Objective
The project below was to take a short story and create a design that would capture the essence of the story without revealing too much. Then, take the image and create a book cover that would compell someone to pull the book off of the shelf.
Audience
People intrigued by the mysterious.
In my initial hand-drawn study, lines and values created with the charcoal brought out the darkness of this moment in the short story.
The final piece done in Photoshop, taking care to recapture the same qualities of darkness and intensity that were achieved in the charcoal version.
